Design Does _________

April 14, 2011

Our Senior show took place at the Ice Box, which is a huge empty space. There were going to be 7 majors showing their thesis projects. Since there were 7 different majors we had to divide the place into 7. We decided to make our own walls. We used 1″ by 3″‘s to make the structure. There 2300 pieces. The design took about 3 months but the set up took 2 hours. We designed a template on the floor to hold the vertical pieces. We cut them on CNC which made everything much more easier for us. I was the head of construction team during this project.

Skeletton stool

Inspired by the skeletton. No hardware. This is old but I still love the design and also its unblievably rigid.

When I was at Uarts

April 14, 2011

Some videos that were taken during our school projects.

This video was taken during our senior show “Design Does”.  This was a work of the PR department.

PS: I have to change both rear suspensions after this footage.

We were setting up the ice box for our senior show. Designing the structure took about 3 months, but the whole set up took 2 hours.

Collab project: “Studio Next”. This were 5 different majors worked together on 7 different project.

Commercial Sabotage: This was our “Charette” project, where every works for 3 days to come up with an idea or a design.

Elecktric Pick-up

February 21, 2011

This another project that I have been working on for the past 6 months. On this project I am working with a injection molding factory. A total different molding system, but I have been making projects with injection molding for the past 6 years. I am by my self at this project which is the best part. Being the hole team. It can be painful but it is worth it.

Right now I am working on the interior. which will take another 6 months.

Note: These are not the final images of the car. These are just the drafts. I can’t put the final ones.

A children toy car

February 21, 2011

I have been helping a rotational plastic factory for designing children toy car. Everything is going to made out of recycled plastic. It is designed for ages between 0 an 9. Children can get inside and takes the parts apart. It has more than 20 parts which help the children to have an idea about cars and their parts.

Note: These are not the final images. Can’t put the real ones. Just to show you what I have been working on.

Some of the final pictures and renderings. The pictures were taking during our opening. Other than our hand made Garden Box, we also recycled some of our schools old dorm furniture into garden boxes as well.  Right now we can grow everything depending on the season.

Studio Next

October 28, 2009

Studio next is a collaboration project. Industrial design, Mid and Multimedia departments worked together. There were 5 projects in Studio Next. Eye tracker, Spacebox, Pixie Engine, Farm, Finance. This video that I did is explaining Studio Next. It was really fun because it was my first time using Adobe Flash. It took a while to learn but I guess it turned out good.

We were inspired by London underground subway systems.

I worked with Paul Gillespie making this video.

Spacebox Project

October 28, 2009

This was a project that I work for the first 6 weeks of my senior year. It was collaboration project mostly. We worked with MID and Multimedia departments. Spacebox is an temporary housing system that has been used as dorms and apartment complexes in Europe. The company came to our school – University of The Arts – and offered us to use the Spacebox for dorms as well, but they wanted us to “Americanize” it.

The area for this project is 135′ by 75′ and the units size is 9′ x 9′ x 25′. The part where I took a part was working on the layout of the units in the empty lot. We could have fit 60 units inside but we decided to keep it low. The reason behind this was, we are an art school right in the middle of the Avenua of The Art.

Live-work-sell concept. Student will be living at the top floor, 2nd floor is their studio and the 1th floor is where they sell their products.

Urban Farm Cart

October 28, 2009

Junior project. We had to come up with mobile cart design for urban farmers, which will help the farmer from harvesting to growing to selling. Cartmap_finalfinalWe tried to make it as light as possible. The lids can be used as shelf or even a stool. You can store your canape and other stuff in the bottom compartment.

In this project I worked with Chris Mufalli, Adam Rusiski and Tim Peet
